Jonas Schiffauer is a juggler and circus author. He has his roots in physical theatre and clowning. Trained at the École Lassaad in Brussels, he has studied the theatre pedagogy methodology of Jacques Lecoq in depth. In his artistic work, he applies the specific choreographic logic of juggling to a wide variety of objects and allows them to interact with each other. Jonas teaches in theatre schools and at festivals, is co-organiser of the Cologne edition of ‘Zeit für Zirkus’ and tours across Europe with his productions. With its project Runners, he is an alumni of Zirkus ON.

Carolin Hensel-Lippold

After studying Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practice at the University of Hildesheim and working at the theater and in the independent cultural scene, Carolin Hensel-Lippold has worked as a project developer and manager for DACAPO Kultur Offensiv! since 2006. A milestone during this time was the development of the on-and-off-stage project URBANATIX and the training center for movement art OPEN SPACE. Since 2023, she has been working for the project Neuer Zirkus Ruhr as part of the NRW funding program NEUE KÜNSTE RUHR with the aim of helping contemporary circus to gain more visibility in the Ruhr Area and to anchor it permanently in the region as an innovative genre.

Heiki Ikkola graduated from the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin in 1994 and has since worked there occasionally as a guest lecturer. Until 1999 he worked as a freelance puppeteer, director, actor and author with his company Circus Kaos. From 2001 to 2005, he was artistic director of the puppet theatre at the tjg.theatre junge generation in Dresden. Alongside Helmut Raeder, Ikkola was responsible for the programme of the Scheune-Schaubuden-Sommer - the Dresden Festival for Theatre, Entertainment and Music for several years. In 2006, together with Sabine Köhler, he founded the company Freaks und Fremde, an independent theatre company dedicated primarily to object and puppet theatre, and took it on theatre and research trips around the world. He has been Managing Director and Artistic Director of the Societaetstheater Dresden since May 2020. He has been Artistic Director of the Zirkustheater-Festival in Dresden since 2022.

Johannes Frisch (he/him) has worked at the Tollhaus cultural centre in Karlsruhe since 1994 and is also a freelance cultural journalist, musician and composer. As a musician with a focus on free improvisation, he has created countless pieces of music for stage plays, theatre, dance and film, but above all for puppet theatre, in addition to numerous recordings and worldwide tours. This has also led to his penchant for visual theatre, which includes contemporary circus. He is a member of the ATOLL Festival team for contemporary circus, is involved in the Circostrada network, he has been involved with Zirkus ON since 2018 and is a board member of Zirkus ON e.V. He lives and works in Karlsruhe.

Elena Liesenfeld is a cultural mediator with several years of experience in the conceptualisation and coordination of cultural projects. In addition to degrees in Applied Cultural Studies (BA in Klagenfurt & Toulouse) and Cultural Mediation (German-French MA in Hildesheim and Marseille), she completed an in-service training course to become a circus trainer at jojo-Zentrum für Artistik und Theater in Hamburg and a basic SOCIAL CIRCUS training course based on the CIRQUE DU SOLEIL method. During her master's degree, she developed a special interest in new forms of art and cultural mediation, which she has been continuously deepening as part of the FLUGWERK collective since 2022. Since 2023 she has been working as deputy production manager at the Chamäleon Theatre Berlin.
